Yes, you will need a subscription to Brilliant Max in order to use this sensor with your automations.
It runs on an internal battery, so there's no wiring involved. Just peel, stick, and pair.

It detects when a door or window opens or closes, and can also measure tilt angle and light levels. These events trigger automations via Brilliant Max.
The sensor needs to be placed within 30 feet of a Brilliant Control.
