Brilliant’s Power over Ethernet Control is Now Shipping

Brilliant NextGen Inc., a leader in smart connected home solutions, today announces that its Power over Ethernet (PoE) control panel is now shipping. The control debuted at CEDIA Expo/Commercial Integrator Expo on September 3, 2025.

The PoE control is based on the second-generation Brilliant control architecture and is designed exclusively for professional installers and integrators. Authorized Brilliant Pros can learn more and purchase here (available in 5 packs).

Brilliant’s award-winning system delivers both power and data through a single CAT5/6 cable, ensuring stable bandwidth and consistent performance in high-density or high-traffic network environments. Installation is streamlined, as device installation does not require a licensed electrician, reducing overall deployment time and cost. Unlike traditional switches that have to be installed in gang box locations, Brilliant’s PoE unit supports flexible mounting at optimal eye level or other preferred positions to improve usability.

For builders, PoE simplifies construction and protects margins. Fewer line voltage devices in walls mean fewer trade conflicts, faster rough in, and far less rework when plans change. Ethernet can be pulled early, adjusted easily, placed at optimal locations, and standardized across homes. More importantly, since PoE accesses the internet through the CAT5/6 cable vs WiFi, it dramatically reduces post-close service calls, reducing costs through customer phone support or truck rolls.

For low voltage installers, PoE is about ownership and scalability. It consolidates power, data, monitoring, and reboot control into the network layer you already manage. Devices can be supported remotely, standardized across projects, and protected with centralized uninterrupted power supplies (UPS) backup. PoE endpoints behave like infrastructure, not consumer gadgets, so systems are easier to deploy, easier to support, and more profitable.

“Our PoE Control was designed from day one for the builder and professional installer channels,” said Jonathan Temlock, President of Brilliant NextGen.
“Integrators want systems that are reliable, remotely manageable, and profitable to deploy. By consolidating power and data into the network layer, we’re helping pros reduce complexity, minimize service calls, and standardize smart home infrastructure across every project.”

Available exclusively to professional integrators, it expands PoE-based control infrastructure and provides a straightforward path for new builds, system upgrades, and migrations.
