About the role

The Full Stack Engineer on the Brilliant Engineering team is based at our San Mateo, CA office. Telecommuting within commuting distance of the San Mateo office is permitted up to 3 days per week. The position will design, develop, and implement software solutions for Brilliant Control, server, and additional Brilliant products. Responsibilities include supporting both the user interface (UI) and backend software. This also involves managing a third- party integration platform and server infrastructure, as well as building, testing, and maintaining features on the Brilliant product. Additionally, the position will provide technical mentorship, peer review, and code reviews, to support the Brilliant Engineering team. Specific Responsibilities include: A Develop and maintain software solutions for Brilliant Controls, cloud, and other products using Python; B. Implement user interface (UI) enhancements and functionality using the QT Modeling Language (QML)/QT framework and C++; C. Manage embedded software, ensuring a seamless integration with Brilliant smart home products; D. Harness Amazon Web Services (AWS)/Cloud technologies to design, implement, and optimize scalable and reliable systems; E. Build and test features, applying Python, C++, and QML/QT framework to ensure robust performance; F. Contribute to the enhancement and maintenance of server infrastructure supporting Brilliant Products; G. Lead distributed systems design and development initiatives, ensuring the development of robust and scalable architectures for efficient software solutions; H. Contribute to Linux development initiatives, ensuring seamless integration and functionality within the software architecture; I. Collaborate with technical leads, team members, product managers, designers, and Quality Assurance (QA) to maintain and uphold high-quality standards throughout the development process; J. Provide technical mentorship and lead code reviews within the Brilliant Engineering team; K. Make use of Mixpanel and Sentry to monitor analytics and errors in the field for released features; and L. Other duties, as assigned.

Salary Range: $150,000/year-$155,000/year
